This involves a fibre optical connection from the ISP to your local street cabinet, and then a copper line to your premises from the street cabinet (typically overhead via telephone poles).

This involves a fibre optical connection from the ISP to your local street cabinet and then an underground (occasionally overhead) fibre cable is routed to your house, delivering a full-fibre connection.
